Acquisitions
The Foundation has been successful in reaching our piano budget to acquire a fantastic new Fazioli concert grand piano (pictured). This international class piano will reside on the stage in the Government House Ballroom. Paolo Fazioli, founder and director of Fazioli Pianoforti, travelled all the way from Italy for the official launch of the Fazioli concert grand piano at the Government House Ballroom.
The piano made its debut under the masterful hands of Piers Lane, Australian international pianist, 26th July at our Music on the Terrace Concert.
This acquisition would not have been possible without the support of Piano Appeal key purchasers, piano donors, and Lotterywest. Huge thanks must go to Lionel Cranfield of Zenith Music who has supported our appeal from the inception.
Initial research indicates that this may be the first grand piano purchased specifically for the Ballroom. The Ballroom has now been fully refurbished to its original accoustic design, hosts an international standard concert series – Music on the Terrace – and houses an international standard Piano; the trilogy is complete.
