Rising Stars

Sunday 10 September at 4pm

An afternoon of beautiful song featuring German mezzo soprano Stefanie Irányi
Stefani Irányi is establishing a reputation both on the opera and concert stage and also as an outstanding interpreter of German art song. She has been praised as “a young singer with a winning vocal radiance and performing intelligence” and as “a wonderful singer, shaping each syllable into the long and expressive phrases with her beautiful voice and her original musicality”. With pianist Mark Coughlan and other local musicians, Stefani presents an afternoon of beautiful romantic music.

MOTT Rising Stars

Our annual Rising Stars concert features some of Western Australia’s best young musical talent. This year we will be featuring the outstanding choir from Churchlands Senior High School as well as a range of brilliant young soloists. The prize-winning String Quartet from St George’s College will return to perform with young star pianist William Hu. This promises to be another exciting showcase of our musical stars of the future.

“William Hu…played the finale of Tchaikovsy’s Piano Concerto No 1 with an authority, insight and virtuosity that swept all before it. It was an astonishing achievement. Hu was a star of the evening.”
